The School of Nursing has opportunities for Graduate Nursing Students to apply for the Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) and B.S.N. to D.N.P. Family Nurse Practitioner ANEW Traineeship. See further eligibilty details for the opportunities below. 

BSN to DNP Nurse Practitioner Program Receives $2.6M Federal ANEW Grant  

FCCU School of Nursing, BSN to DNP Nurse Practitioner Program has received a $2.6 million grant over four years 2023-2027, to increase the number of nurse practitioner students educated to provide high-quality primary care to rural and underserved populations. Students will receive specialized education through an innovative academic-practice partnership between FGCU and Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida. 

The project, 2023 FGCU Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) Program* is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  The focus is on improving the health outcomes and to develop emphasis on health inequities, social determinants of health, mental health and substance use disorder for rural and underserved populations.  

Students selected to participate in the FGCU ANEW Program based on eligibility criteria may receive awards based on credit hours enrolled  

  • up to $25,000 for full-time study and  
  • up to $15,000 for part-time study.   

Traineeship awards may be used to assist with tuition, books, and housing expenses. Eligibility criteria include meeting the FGCU BSN to DNP Family Nurse Practitioner Program or the Psychiatric Mental Health NP admissions criteria, a statement of need, and a desire to work in a rural or medically underserved area upon graduation.  

FGCU BSN to DNP Nurse Practitioner Program accepts applications after each fall admission cycle.
